  • Ballet

Ballet classes are the foundation for training and focus on developing a solid ballet technique with emphasis on understanding correct body placement, proper use of turn out, coordination of the upper body (epaulement), and use of arms (port de bras).

  • Pre-Pointe

Pre-Pointe is a pointe preparation class for serious ballet students interested in dancing en pointe. A portion of the class is spent doing foot/ankle exercises and stretches on the floor. Students also do strenuous core strengthening exercises. A portion of the time will be spent at the barre doing repetitious strength-building exercises. Pre-Pointe Class is required before being considered to dance en pointe. The student will need to take a minimum of one year of Pre-Pointe before being considered for advancement to Pointe class.

  • Pointe

Pointe class is the part of classical ballet technique that concerns pointe work, in which a ballet dancer supports all body weight on the tips of fully extended feet. Pointe work is performed while wearing pointe shoes. Pointe class is ONLY available to dancers that have mastered all necessary ballet skills and have been given permission to be fitted for pointe shoes.

  • Lyrical & Contemporary Jazz

A combination of lyrical and contemporary jazz. Lyrical dance combines elements of ballet and jazz to create a soft style that emphasizes the storytelling quality of music. An emphasis is placed on grace and fluidity, musicality, and expressiveness to capture emotion through movement. Contemporary jazz is a style of expressive dance that combines elements of several dance genres including modern, classical jazz, lyrical and classical ballet.

  • Jazz

Jazz dance combines techniques of classical ballet and modern dance with the current forms of popular dance. Jazz also has its own movement vocabulary ranging from the isolation of certain body parts to the movement of the entire body with the accents of musical rhythms. We offer both modern and contemporary jazz.

  • Tap

Tap utilizes rhythm, syncopation, and sound in addition to movement. An emphasis is placed on musicality, expression, and improvisation. Class placement is determined by skill level/age and students often repeat levels until they have achieved mastery.

  • Tumbling

Tumbling class covers rolls, handstands, cartwheels, roundoffs, walkovers, up through back handsprings and higher-level floor skills. Tumbling does not include beam, bars or vaulting; just tumbling on the floor, trampoline and tumble track.
